Requirements
Must:
- 2+ years of practical experience in an IBM i / AS400 setting
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience
- Proficient programming skills in RPG and CL (RPG Free, RPG III, RPGILE, SQLRPGLE)
- Strong understanding of IBM DB2, DDS, and DDL database architectures
- Familiarity with IBM development tools (SEU, PDM, SDA, RDi, ACS)
- Knowledge of web technologies and integration tools (JavaScript, JSON, XML, HTML, Node.js, PHP)
- Experience with TCP/IP services and IBM i work management
- EDI knowledge, particularly with Cleo, is highly preferred
- Background in distribution or wholesale industry is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Maintain, update, and enhance both legacy and modern applications in an IBM i environment
- Develop and support applications using RPG Free, RPG III, RPG IV (RPGILE), SQLRPGLE, CL, CLEE, OCL, CMD, and REXX
- Engage with ILE concepts such as binding directories, service programs (SRVPGM), and stored procedures
- Utilize development tools like SEU, PDM, SDA, RDi (Rational Developer for i), and Visual Studio Code
- Support IBM DB2, DDS, DDL, and IFS database systems
- Manage screen and file definitions using DDS, SDA, UIM, and DSPF36
- Create integrations with SQL, Query/400, CGI, JavaScript, JSON, XML, HTML, Node.js, and PHP
- Ensure compliance with EDI and X12 standards
- Assist with IBM system operations including Navigator for i, PTFs, TCP/IP services, work management, job scheduling, and tape backup processes
- Diagnose and resolve system issues, providing support for production
- Offer general network assistance to users as needed

Our operations are based in a 140,000-square-foot warehouse in Windsor Mill, Maryland, distributing products from over 100 manufacturers to national and regional wholesale distributors. We are currently seeking an experienced RPG Programmer to join our dynamic IT team. This on-site role offers a salary range of $70,000 to $110,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes 401(k) plans with matching, health and dental insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance.
