Requirements
Must:
- Four (4) years of experience managing Windows server environments and administering networks.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a leadership role, including formal supervision or senior-level technical guidance.
- Knowledge of administrative principles and practices.
- Familiarity with information technology operations, including switches, routers, VPNs, email security appliances, Windows Server, Microsoft SQL, VMWare vSphere, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience installing and deploying applications via Group Policy and SCCM.
- Proficient in implementing enterprise-level networking using Cisco and Juniper switches, Cisco routers with IOS, load balancers, firewalls, network monitoring, wireless systems, and security.
- Strong planning, organizing, and coordinating abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven capability to supervise teams effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, judgment, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the management and upkeep of the Departments network and server infrastructure.
- Install, configure, maintain, and significantly modify operating systems, applications, network appliances, and related hardware across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Manage communication infrastructure including power management, structured cabling, and telecommunications support.
- Transfer knowledge of maintenance and configuration skills to subordinate staff.
- Collaborate with the State Data Center and cloud service vendors to plan, address, and resolve hosting issues.
- Direct staff activities, set priorities, and monitor daily operations.
- Provide training, mentoring, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.
- Coordinate the implementation of new initiatives relating to network architecture and server infrastructure.
- Supervise on-call support personnel.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and ensure accuracy of configurations.
- Conduct validation and testing of the infrastructure to ensure readiness.
- Monitor network equipment and resolve outages, providing analytical reports to management.
- Offer Tier 2-3 support, manage trouble tickets, and document resolutions.
