Requirements

Must:
- We prefer a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. - We require 3–7 years of hands-on background in DevOps, cloud engineering, or systems engineering. - We need strong expertise with Microsoft Azure, GitHub, and Azure DevOps. - We expect demonstrated success in building, maintaining, and resolving issues in CI/CD pipelines. - We require experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep, ARM, or Terraform. - We need strong scripting ability in PowerShell, Python, or comparable languages. - We value familiarity with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools. - We need a solid understanding of application lifecycle management and environment promotion workflows. - We prefer experience supporting enterprise applications with multi-environment release processes. - We value exposure to regulated environments, including public sector or financial systems. - We prefer experience integrating GitHub and Azure DevOps in a hybrid DevOps environment. - We consider experience with Azure AI services or Azure AI Foundry a plus. - We prefer familiarity with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Docker or AKS.

Responsibilities

- We design, implement, and run the infrastructure and deployment pipelines that support our Pension Administration System and related services. - We manage the daily movement of code, environment coordination, and deployment automation across Development, Test, UAT, Production, and Echo environments. - We connect development and operations by applying modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and production monitoring. - We operate within a hybrid toolset that uses GitHub for source control and Azure DevOps for enterprise pipeline orchestration. - We use AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, in line with our governance standards. - We ensure application releases are delivered reliably, consistently, and with minimal disruption. - We support the broader application lifecycle by maintaining smooth promotion and deployment processes. - We collaborate across teams to strengthen automation, stability, and operational efficiency.

We are the Fire and Police Pension Association, a Colorado-based public employee retirement system established by legislative mandate in the 1980s. We serve police officers and firefighters across the state by administering defined benefit retirement coverage along with death and disability benefits. We are a small organization of about 70 employees located in Denver, and we foster a culture built on listening generously, communicating directly, collaborating closely, and supporting one another through shared accountability and collective success.
