Principal Software Engineer (Python, KDB)

- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related discipline required - Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering - Strong expertise in designing and building large Reporting Platforms - Extensive knowledge of KDB+ - Skilled in Linux, Python, and Java - Familiar with Control M - Highly adept at managing large data sets - Proficient in SQL with familiarity in relational and time-series databases - Experience in API design, distributed systems, asynchronous workers, and resilient messaging systems - Understanding of microservice architectures and both on-premise and cloud-based deployments - Capable of developing reliable software in unstable environments - Able to provide leadership and mentorship to small, agile teams in a collaborative setting - Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities - Interest in cryptocurrencies and a commitment to staying informed about industry developments - Driven to deliver software with a high level of automation - Experienced with version control systems, managing parallel development for multiple releases - Willingness to contribute to organizational innovation - Open to continuous learning and demonstrating versatility beyond specialization - Ability to work effectively with both partners and project teams - Knowledge of Agile methodologies or iterative development processes - Familiarity with Acceptance Test-Driven Development is a plus - Willing to take ownership and accountability for deliverables - Skills in coaching team members - Excellent collaboration and interpersonal capabilities - Positive attitude, mentoring mentality, teamwork, and effective contribution focus - Experience in capital markets or cryptocurrency, specifically with exposure to Trading and Algorithmic Trading.
