Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in software engineering within a team-oriented environment
- Proven track record in developing software for cloud-first architectures
- Proficient in building and deploying solutions in the Cloud
- Familiar with Serverless architecture for software solutions
- Experienced with CI/CD tools and DevOps methodologies
- Background in high-performance, high-volume environments (24/7/365)
- Knowledge of Agile software engineering practices (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.)
- Deep expertise in Java; familiarity with Python and TypeScript is a plus
- Solid understanding of operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows)
- Experience with database development (SQL, Oracle, DB2)
- Competent in cloud security for application development and delivery
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles
- Familiar with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts; experience with Terraform is advantageous
- Strong decision-making abilities and independent thinking
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Act as a Software Engineer by creating, developing, and implementing complex solutions that align with FedNow and Fed Standards
- Design software solutions primarily focused on backend development in the Cloud
- Contribute to strategic and tactical planning of software solutions and lifecycle modifications
- Create and build Java application components, ensuring high performance and reliability
- Provide training and consult across functions regarding troubleshooting and resolution of complex, time-sensitive issues
- Collaborate with analysts in an Agile team to define user requirements and conduct design reviews for innovative cloud applications
- Adapt and develop new technical skills in conjunction with established practices
- Guarantee the quality of in-house developed software to prevent significant defects and issues for clients
- Ensure adherence to Federal Reserve policies, procedures, and standards
- Offer primary or backup support for application production issues, ensuring timely resolution of problems and processing challenges
