Requirements

Must:
- Associate degree or Bachelors degree is preferred. - A minimum of three years of progressively responsible investigative experience in the relevant areas. - Demonstrated initiative, creativity, resourcefulness, maturity, and judgment necessary for high-level performance. - In-depth knowledge of investigative principles, methods, and techniques for fact and mitigation. - Strong verbal and written communication abilities, understanding of legal processes, and capacity for teamwork. - Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, OneDrive, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and investigative databases like Accurint. - A valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and insurance coverage. - Proven commitment to and comfort working with diverse communities and clients from various backgrounds. - Familiar with data review platforms such as Everlaw and indexing software such as dTSearch or forensic tools like Cellebrite. - Understanding of network and system necessities for evaluating potential software and litigation support tools.

Responsibilities

- Identify and locate witnesses, evidence, and records pertinent to cases. - Conduct interviews with clients, witnesses, experts, and family members for comprehensive information gathering. - Draft and serve subpoenas following office policies and legal ethics. - Assist attorneys in crafting demonstrative evidence for hearings and trials. - Engage in consultations with clients and family members to enhance client representation. - Attend client meetings with attorneys, document detailed notes, and aid in strategizing defense. - Photograph and document crime scenes and gather evidence. - Develop summaries of records and identify additional investigative leads. - Analyze extensive electronic discovery and create investigative plans using collected information. - Contribute to the formation of mitigation evidence based on various socio-environmental factors. - Compose detailed memorandums and investigation reports based on findings and witness interviews. - Support attorneys during court appearances, including testifying and coordinating witnesses. - Advocate for clients facing challenges during incarceration and provide case management support. - Stay updated on relevant policies and liaise with the Bureau of Prisons and correctional institutions. - Utilize aggregation software and conduct comprehensive online searches for thorough investigations. - Perform social media investigations for detailed analysis of case leads.
