Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in information technology, computer science, or a related field
- Minimum of seven years experience in an IT corporate environment with a focus on securing platforms and operating systems
- Proven track record in developing and executing security programs, information security, IT audit, or risk management
- Strong foundational knowledge of security frameworks and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Direct experience in securing data-intensive environments, such as data lakes and cloud data platforms (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks)
- Strong comprehension of the AI/ML lifecycle and its associated security risks; familiarity with MLSecOps principles is a significant advantage
- In-depth knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and their relevance in analytics and AI
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CISA are preferred
- Experience working in an agile setting and collaborating closely with development or data science teams
Responsibilities
- Lead and implement threat management strategies, standards, and accountability policies at an enterprise level to mitigate attacks or data breaches
- Manage the Cyber Command Center and oversee other Cyber Security domains
- Foster and promote security strategies specific to the Data and AI portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate security programs while addressing unique risks
- Consult with portfolio leadership regarding security and privacy issues, translating complex technical risks into understandable business impacts
- Act as the primary point of contact for the portfolio regarding engagement with the broader InfoSec community
- Identify, assess, and document security risks impacting business operations and data
- Evaluate existing security controls, recommending improvements as necessary
- Collaborate with business leaders to ensure understanding and acceptance of security risks
- Work directly with data scientists and engineers to incorporate security controls into data pipelines and the MLOps lifecycle
- Advocate for secure by design and privacy-by-design principles in all new data and AI initiatives
- Ensure compliance of the portfolio with relevant data privacy regulations and industry standards
- Act as the security representative for the portfolio during incident response efforts, providing critical insights on data and AI systems
- Assist with vendor security evaluations for third-party data sources and AI tools
Description
We are FedEx, looking for a strategic and experienced Manager of Cyber Security to lead our Business Information Security Office (BISO) for the Data and AI portfolio. Reporting to our Information Security department, you will play a vital role as a security leader, facilitating collaboration between our portfolio leaders and the central information security team. Your primary responsibility will be to integrate security, privacy, and risk management throughout the lifecycle of our data and AI initiatives to safeguard our data assets and ensure compliance. This is a hybrid opportunity, ideally located in Memphis, TN, but we are open to allowing remote work across the United States based on business needs.
