Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related quantitative field.
- At least five years of experience in systems development, including programming expertise.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Experience working in mainframe environments or complex systems on IBM operating systems.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and developing large-scale data processing projects.
- Previous involvement in client/server development, particularly inclusive of distributed systems.
- Familiarity with object-oriented development or case tools.
- Ten or more years of experience in enterprise technology architecture roles is preferred.
- Proven track record in leading architects and high-performing technical teams.
- Strong ability to engage and persuade VP and executive-level stakeholders.
- Extensive understanding of integration strategies and enterprise governance models.
- Deep knowledge of software engineering principles and enterprise architecture.
- Broad technical proficiency across various technology stacks and platforms.
- Exceptional communication skills for conveying complex concepts to executive audiences.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities at the enterprise level.
- Leadership skills in managing a team of seasoned architects.
- Ability to navigate ambiguous, cross-functional organizational environments.
- Strong human relations and organizational leadership skills.
- Capacity to establish trust within technical and business communities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a team of Enterprise Architects.
- Direct enterprise technology initiatives to align with business goals.
- Provide architectural oversight on significant projects to ensure durability, security, and sustainability.
- Collaborate with executive teams to translate strategic aims into concrete technological actions.
- Supervise feasibility studies, architectural assessments, and technology reviews to guide investments.
- Advocate for the adoption of contemporary architectural practices, including cloud-native applications.
- Encourage the responsible use of AI in architecture, such as code archaeology.
- Ensure compliance with architectural governance while fostering flexibility and innovation.
- Mentor and develop architects to enhance their influence and leadership capabilities within the enterprise.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to streamline complex systems and minimize technical debt.
