Requirements

Must:
- Masters degree in Transportation, Logistics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics - Alternatively, a Bachelors degree in the same fields plus 2 years of Industrial Engineering or relevant experience at FedEx, or a minimum of two years in a relevant operations management role within the transportation industry - Proficiency in SQL query development and data modeling - Experience with Power BI and complex data analytics insights - Strong software skills, including Microsoft Office and web-based applications - Familiarity with Business Objects - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex or sensitive information - Strong presentation skills to facilitate training and deliver information to individuals and groups - Exceptional time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and prioritize workloads - Ability to identify problems and employ sound judgment for effective solutions - Capability to inspire a shared vision and motivate a team - Competence in performing cost justification analysis

Responsibilities

- Advise, create, and implement engineering and operational plans to enhance efficiency in business objectives - Utilize operational knowledge of facilities and engineering processes to drive performance - Collaborate with Managers to ensure compliance with plans and address deficiencies - Serve as a change agent to influence management decisions for alignment with operational goals - Identify inefficiencies through root cause analysis and provide on-site assistance for improvements - Facilitate team understanding and optimal usage of operational systems, such as dock management tools - Develop Network Alignment Plans and oversee capacity planning for effective facility usage - Prepare short, medium, and long-term volume projections - Oversee district changes such as relocations and expansions - Forecast labor needs and evaluate hub/linehaul cut times for compliance - Create Labor Standards aimed at minimizing labor hours - Generate monthly operational plans with a focus on resource requirements during peak periods - Establish productivity, service, and cost goals to transform inefficiencies into savings - Provide recommendations for material handling projects, including financial analyses - Construct contingency plans for unusual situations - Act as a subject matter expert on operational processes and technology upgrades - Identify gaps in adherence to SQI metrics and train management on operational processes - Perform additional tasks as assigned
