Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in IT or related field with over 5 years of relevant experience in auditing and information technology
- In-depth knowledge of information technology business application control procedures along with general control procedures
- Familiarity with internal control requirements of Sarbanes/Oxley (SOX) and Model Audit Rule (MAR)
- Experience in the insurance industry is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, effective with various personnel levels and external professionals
- Results-driven with strong decision-making and analytical skills for complex review tasks
- Capacity to work independently while fostering a collaborative environment with multi-disciplinary professionals
- Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality
- Proficient in Excel, with the capability to learn job-specific software applications
- Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) are preferred
- Position based in our West Des Moines, Iowa office, with potential for a hybrid work arrangement of up to 2 days per week after 90 days of employment, minimal travel required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assurance and consulting reviews of designated IT operations to assess the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes
- Gather, analyze, and evaluate audit evidence to formulate relevant observations and recommendations, leading to well-informed, objective opinions
- Offer clear guidance to management by communicating observations, associated risks, and viable solutions throughout the audit process in both verbal and written formats
- Oversee the prompt and precise completion of external reviews and inquiries from independent accountants or regulatory examiners
- Support and mentor junior staff in their roles and contribute to their professional development; may involve direct supervisory duties
- Actively research or investigate areas that may provide financial benefits to the organization.
