Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Network Engineering, or a related discipline; masters degree is preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in network security engineering, particularly in enterprise settings
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are strongly preferred
- Advanced expertise in firewall technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point)
- Experience with Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM platforms, and various VPN technologies (GlobalProtect, Netskope, Island, etc.)
- Proficient understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and practical experience with routing and switching
- In-depth knowledge of encryption techniques, authentication protocols, and VPN technologies
- Experience with cloud security frameworks (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Familiarity with scripting or software development (Python, Flask, Jinja2, Bootstrap 5, JavaScript/AJAX, Terraform, GitHub)
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and capability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience managing security in cloud-native and hybrid cloud environments
- Comprehensive understanding of Zero Trust architecture and principles
- Proven experience leading cross-functional security initiatives or large-scale security projects
- Willingness to engage in on-call duty and occasional after-hours work for maintenance or emergencies
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and uphold scalable, robust, and secure enterprise network solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, NAC, and other security devices
- Configure and oversee security tools (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, VPNs, endpoint security) and ensure network integrity through regular audits, vulnerability scans, and security evaluations
- Assess current security vulnerabilities and formulate strategies for risk mitigation, continuous security enhancement, and develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and investigate security incidents, leading incident response efforts including detection, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis
- Ensure network compliance with industry standards and company policies (e.g., NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS), collaborating closely with the compliance team to uphold security standards
- Work alongside IT teams, business units, and external partners to incorporate security solutions into wider business frameworks. Mentor junior engineers and guide them on security best practices
- Maintain comprehensive documentation on all network security systems, recording configurations, processes, and incident reports. Provide regular security updates to senior management and suggest improvements
- Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies. Evaluate and propose new tools and practices to enhance the organizations security posture
