Must:

- Previous experience in a hotel or related field is required
- Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred
- Trade school or college coursework in a related field is beneficial
- Flexibility to work long hours when necessary
- Capability to exert over 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with employees and guests
- Effective listening skills to address and clarify concerns of employees and guests
- Ability to multitask and prioritize functions to meet deadlines
- Approachable demeanor towards guests and employees, maintaining a friendly and courteous attitude
- Attendance at all required hotel meetings and training sessions
- Consistent attendance in line with Highgate Hotel Standards
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to grooming standards
- Compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations for safety and efficiency
- Focus on productivity, identifying issues and assisting in solutions
- Proficiency in problem-solving, including anticipation and prevention
- Ability to understand and apply complex information from various sources
- Willingness to cross-train in other hotel-related functions
- Commitment to confidentiality of sensitive information
- Initiative in anticipating guest or operational needs
- Flexibility to undertake additional tasks as directed by management
Responsibilities
- Ensure the property is maintained to the highest standards with minimal disruption to guests and staff
- Perform repairs on the hotels air conditioning systems, including changing filters and cleaning coils
- Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment, including boilers and electrical systems
- Take necessary readings on equipment to ensure functionality
- Test and monitor cooling towers and document findings
- Replace and program televisions as required
- Perform repairs on light switches, sockets, bulbs, and fixtures
- Repair furniture as needed
- Replace and fix pumps
- Conduct plumbing repairs, including clearing clogged drains and replacing pipe fittings
- Read blueprints and wiring diagrams effectively
- Trace and repair various water lines
- Troubleshoot and fix kitchen equipment issues
- Maintain records of repairs and preventive maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes
- Clean and repair swimming pools and spas
- Paint designated areas when required
- Repair and finish drywall as necessary
- Maintain and repair various wall coverings
- Program and service the hotels electronic locking system
