Requirements
Must:
- Masters degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related field with a strong emphasis on optimization.
- PhD preferred.
- At least 5 years of industry experience in creating optimization or machine learning solutions.
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience with data processing, modeling, and advanced analytics using Python or R.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working with large datasets using SQL or similar technologies.
- Demonstrated experience leading full-cycle data science or optimization projects from conception to deployment.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based analytics and machine learning platforms, preferably Azure Databricks.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in optimization methods, including linear/non-linear programming, mixed-integer optimization, metaheuristics, and stochastic optimization.
- Core machine learning expertise in algorithms such as tree-based models, gradient boosting, clustering, and deep learning fundamentals.
- Proficient in simulation model evaluation, validation, and experimentation.
- Experience in data wrangling, feature engineering, and pipeline design, alongside ML engineering practices adhering to MLOps principles.
Responsibilities
- Construct machine learning and AI solutions using Python/R alongside contemporary ML frameworks for prediction, clustering, simulation, and automated decision-making systems.
- Develop and implement optimization models for risk assessment and operational decision-making, including linear, nonlinear, and mixed-integer programming, as well as stochastic optimization.
- Oversee the entire model development lifecycle: framing problems, processing data, engineering features, modeling, validating, implementing, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to convert analytical insights into actionable business strategies.
- Handle large-scale datasets utilizing SQL or equivalent tools and build robust data pipelines.
- Leverage creativity and domain knowledge to assess and enhance model performance and interpretability.
- Promote continuous innovation in optimization, machine learning, and AI methods across the organization.
