- Strong listening skills to interpret member needs and approach collections with tact, empathy, and professionalism.
- Excellent typing, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- High level of accuracy in all tasks.
Responsibilities
- Model a vibrant, top-tier service and sales culture focused on enhancing membership experience.
- Reach out to members using various communication methods to understand the reasons for delinquency and facilitate a plan to update their account status.
- Take necessary actions and complete required documentation based on specific situations, ensuring accurate records of interactions and resolutions while maintaining outstanding member service.
- Provide support to the Credit Department and Teller Line as needed.
- Foster a robust sales culture within our credit union.
- Oversee and finalize checking accounts in alignment with FCCU policies.
- Analyze daily reports and engage with members via multiple contact methods.
- Responsible for recovering funds from negative balance accounts.
- Assess delinquent account statuses and execute collection procedures according to FCCU guidelines.
- Precisely document all correspondence and activities concerning delinquent accounts in our collection system.
- Evaluate negative account scenarios for potential debt restructuring and consolidation options within credit union policies.
- Conduct skip-tracing for members attempting to evade repayment.
- Identify and recommend accounts suitable for legal actions and follow up appropriately.
- Charge off accounts that remain negative in our system.
- Refer accounts to third-party collection agencies after exhausting internal collection efforts.
- Regularly review charged-off accounts for potential recovery options not yet sent to third parties.
- Propose improvements to existing products and help in the development of new offerings.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of credit union products to effectively cross-sell services.
- Embody First Communitys Mission, Vision, and Values in every interaction.
- Assist with branch operations to support member services, including backup roles in the teller line and credit department.
- Cultivate positive relationships with members, colleagues, and our Board of Directors.
- Promote a favorable image for the credit union during both work and non-work hours.
- Attend credit union events as requested.
- Carry out additional related responsibilities as assigned.
