We are looking for qualified candidates who possess a bachelor's degree in computer science or have equivalent experience alongside 7 to 10 years of relevant expertise. Ideal applicants will demonstrate advanced skills in scripting and automation (Windows PowerShell 5.1+), with a minimum of 3 years in SQL Server database administration. Additionally, familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is preferred, along with proficiency in Azure DevOps, GitHub, or GitLab CI/CD; Terraform, ARM templates, or CloudFormation; and Git workflows and branching strategies. Essential technical skills include scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Ansible), SQL Server administration and T-SQL, containerization (Docker and Kubernetes), monitoring (experience with Datadog, New Relic, or Prometheus/Grafana), security (network security/encryption), and documentation. It is a plus if candidates hold Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, DP-300) or their AWS equivalents, have FinTech experience, and possess knowledge of SOX and PCI-DSS compliance, advanced automation (PowerShell DSC, Pester testing framework), and familiarity with the dbatools PowerShell module.
Responsibilities
As a Sr. Systems DevOps IT Engineer, I will expect you to automate file and workflow processes, validation, monitoring, and tracking with a primary focus on DevOps engineering (70% of the role). You will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and automation tools, implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and PowerShell DSC, automate deployment processes and infrastructure provisioning, monitor system performance, and establish alerting strategies. Additionally, you will lead incident response, troubleshooting, and post-mortem analysis while ensuring security and compliance throughout the development lifecycle. In the realm of database administration (20% of the role), you will manage SQL Server 2019/2022 production and development environments, implement and maintain Always On Availability Groups, perform database performance tuning and query optimization, design and test backup/recovery procedures while supporting database migrations and schema change management, all while ensuring compliance with SOX and financial data regulations. Lastly, in systems administration (10% of the role), you will maintain our Windows/Linux server infrastructure, implement security patches and system updates, support capacity planning and scaling efforts, manage Active Directory and authentication systems, assist the IT Department with various special projects, and embody our values while advancing our mission and goals.
