Requirements
Must:
- Proficient in MEMS fabrication techniques, CAD layout design, and cleanroom safety protocols
- In-depth knowledge of materials characterization and thin-film deposition methodologies
- Familiar with COMSOL, L-Edit, or similar MEMS design software
- Experience in additive manufacturing and micro-scale assembly processes
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the capacity to obtain Secret clearance
- Previous cleanroom experience is highly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years in MEMS or semiconductor device fabrication, or equivalent lab R&D experience in microfabrication
Responsibilities
- Design and simulate MEMS devices aimed at micro-scale sensors and actuators
- Conduct photolithography, deposition, etching, bonding, and thin-film processing within ARLs cleanroom environment
- Lead the development and documentation of microfabrication processes
- Perform environmental and reliability evaluations on MEMS devices
- Assist in the integration and packaging of MEMS devices into larger electronic systems
- Collaborate with ARL researchers, chemists, and materials engineers
- Create technical documentation and maintain experimental logs following ARLs guidelines
Description
We at Fibertek are currently looking for a Microelectromechanical Systems Engineer to join our team located at the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD. This role involves providing technical support in the research, design, and production of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) devices and innovative micro-scale packaging technologies. Working in a cleanroom setting, you will contribute to the development and testing of MEMS-centric devices for defense applications, while engaging with a multidisciplinary team.
