Requirements
Must:
- A bachelors degree in engineering, systems engineering, or optics is required, a masters degree is preferable.
- At least 10 to 15 years of pertinent experience is essential.
- Proven experience in Systems Engineering with a focus on requirements development, test planning, test documentation, and systems integration, verification, and validation.
- Experience in developing and managing system and subsystem requirements flow-downs.
- Demonstrated capability to lead and apply systems engineering best practices and tools from inception.
- Proficiency with systems engineering and requirements management software tools and model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
- Strong ability to communicate technical findings and issues effectively through both written and visual formats.
- Experience with space-based, electro-optical hardware is an added advantage.
- U.S. citizenship is necessary.
- Secret or Top Secret Clearance is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Program Managers, scientists, and engineers in cross-functional teams to innovate new technologies and laser systems.
- Oversee product development at the system level, including reviewing and approving system and subsystem requirements while breaking them down for allocation.
- Prepare Systems Engineering Master Plans (SEMP) along with other vital technical documentation.
- Translate customer specifications and technical governing standards into design and testing requirements, monitoring compliance and verification throughout design, assembly, integration, and testing phases.
- Maintain and supervise requirements baselines, ensuring traceability throughout the specification levels via a formal management process.
- Manage internal and external interfaces through a structured interface management strategy.
- Conduct technology assessments and trade studies.
- Execute risk assessments and analyses.
- Plan and execute investigations, developing solutions for technical challenges.
- Create test processes, design test equipment, set up configurations, and integrate systems using established methodologies and techniques.
- Design and assist with the execution of system and subsystem verification tests.
- Support bidding and proposal efforts and contribute to new business development.
