Requirements
Must:
I am seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the following areas:
- Cisco Switching, VLANs, Routing, and Firewall Support
- Cisco Meraki (Firewalls, APs, Switches, VPN)
- Network Administration, Routing & Switching, and Network Troubleshooting
- Server Hardware Technologies (CPU, RAID, SCSI)
- Virtualization & Public/Private Cloud (Azure, etc.)
- Mobile Messaging Support (Android, iOS)
- VPN Connectivity and Endpoint Security
- Backup & Recovery Solutions (Chartec, Datto, Acronis)
- Office 365 Console, SharePoint, and O365 to Azure migration projects
- Proficiency with ThreatLocker
- Experience with Kaseya (for monitoring, managing, and securing clients’ IT environments)
- Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services)
- Knowledge of Barracuda products (security, networking, and storage solutions)
Preferred, but not required, skills include experience with:
- IT Glue (cloud-based IT documentation platform)
- ConnectWise PSA
- QuickBooks
- RightNetworks (cloud service provider)
- Patch Management tools
- ClickShare
- LogMeIn or similar remote assistance tools
- Office 365 and Azure migration projects
- Network design and configuration initiatives
Preferred education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. I require certification in CompTIA A+ and/or CCNA, with preferred certifications being Network+, CCNP, MCITP, MCP, Apple Certification, and Project+.
Responsibilities
As a Level 2 Technical Support Engineer, I expect you to:
- Provide outstanding service and technical assistance that meets or surpasses client expectations.
- Maintain a daily commitment of at least 9 hours (8 working hours plus 1 hour for lunch and breaks).
- Accurately and consistently document client environments and support histories.
- Address service requests and assist senior engineers with larger infrastructure projects.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot workstation and server environments.
- Oversee backups (e.g., Chartec, Datto, Acronis).
- Configure and support On-Premises Exchange and Office 365 mail clients, including Outlook.
- Customize and support MS Office Suite applications.
- Administer Windows Server environments, including user/group management, file/print services, file permissions, event logs, and backup restoration.
- Manage enterprise email systems (O365/Exchange), including user/group management, aliases, and folder permissions.
- Provide support for networking environments, including routing, switching, and wireless.

This role involves working onsite in West Houston (Energy Corridor), with potential travel to client sites within the area. Participation in an after-hours on-call rotation is expected, and the majority of work will occur during standard business hours, with flexibility as required to meet client needs. This position demands frequent standing, bending, and working in server/network areas during equipment installations. Compliance with client safety protocols, dress codes, and facility access policies is essential. The ideal candidate will possess strong ownership over technical issues, have a keen attention to detail, and be an effective communicator capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users. A mindset of teamwork, a desire for professional growth, and a commitment to client support are crucial traits for this role.
