Must:
We are looking for a candidate with 2-3 years of technical project management experience and a thorough understanding of project management principles and IT practices. Familiarity with project management methodologies such as PMI, PRINCE2, and Agile is essential. Candidates should hold a PMP certification or be able to obtain it within one year of hiring. Experience with or familiarity in cybersecurity is highly desirable. Proficiency with project management software and tools is expected, along with the ability to quickly adapt to a range of applications, software, and hardware used in our organization.
Responsibilities
In the role of Project Manager (Cybersecurity), I will lead and oversee the successful delivery and management of single or multiple technical projects within the Kansas Information Security Office (KISO). My responsibilities will include facilitating the gathering and validation of project requirements, identifying and scheduling project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks. I will develop and maintain detailed work plans and project timelines, establish work plans and staffing for project phases, and coordinate project activities to ensure they progress on schedule and within budget. Additionally, I will analyze risks, provide regular updates to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) regarding project status and any problems, take proactive steps to minimize delays, set and track project milestones, negotiate plans and timeframes with relevant stakeholders, and communicate regularly with technical teams and cross-departmental stakeholders.
