Fiber QA/QC Engineer

- Serve as the on-site representative for the Owner, ensuring quality in fiber installation, inspection oversight, and final approval of structured cabling systems - Lead and supervise QA/QC inspectors, fiber installation contractors, and other stakeholders to guarantee compliance with Owner standards and specifications - Daily collaboration with General Contractor, fiber contractors, ICT designers, and client representatives to strategize, coordinate, and mitigate risks in fiber installation processes - Manage comprehensive fiber deployment including but not limited to: - Outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) fiber installations - Backbone and horizontal fiber distribution - Fiber pathways (trays, conduits, innerducts) - Splicing, terminations, patch panels, and cross-connects - Meet-me rooms (MMRs) and main distribution areas (MDAs) - Ensure adherence to structured cabling standards (e.g., TIA, ISO/IEC) and Owner-specific design requirements - Assess and confirm installation quality, including bend radius controls, cable management, labeling, grounding, and capacity compliance - Oversee and validate fiber testing and certification processes including OTDR testing, insertion loss tests, polarity validation, and cleanliness inspections - Review, validate, and approve fiber test reports, splice logs, and turnover documentation - Identify and resolve quality issues related to installation standards, test failures, or design differences - Maintain detailed logs of deficiencies and drive corrective measures to resolution before system acceptance - Ensure compliance with safety regulations, clean-room protocols, and data center operating constraints - Confirm readiness for network equipment installation by validating the completion and performance of infrastructure - Assist in transitioning to operations by ensuring all fiber infrastructure is thoroughly tested, labeled, documented, and meets the Owners operational standards
