Requirements
Must:
- I require a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience in modeling topology for transmission and generation systems using ASPEN One Liner and/or Siemens PSS/E for Medium, High, and Extra High Voltages is essential.
- A solid understanding of modeling inverter-based generation for wind and solar applications, as well as synchronous-based generation, is necessary.
- Prior experience with transmission system fault studies, including circuit breaker duty analysis, will be valuable.
- Familiarity with NERC Compliance Standards and process improvement activities related to engineering workflows is expected.
Responsibilities
- In this role, I will accurately model transmission system topology, including impedance and facility ratings for lines, generators, and transformers across Medium, High, and Extra High Voltages using our internal modeling database, PSS/E, and/or ASPEN One Liner.
- I will address various system modeling requests from Engineering and Operations personnel submitted through our ServiceNow ticketing system.
- Collaborating with internal and external teams will be key as we model planned projects, construct power flow, and short circuit model cases to represent the future transmission system.
- I will engage in the planning and organization of project work activities to ensure that tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Performing electrical transmission system analysis and protection system studies as requested will be part of my responsibilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
