Automation Engineer (SDET)

- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated test frameworks - Construct reusable test libraries, utilities, and harnesses for UI, API, and integration testing - Drive the execution of automated test frameworks with an emphasis on reliability and efficiency - Write high-quality, testable JavaScript/TypeScript code to verify complex system behaviors - Create custom automation tools, mocks, stubs, and data generators - Contribute to testability enhancements through code reviews and collaborative efforts - Manage test execution pipelines in GitLab CI/CD - Maintain Dockerized testing environments and transient test infrastructure - Integrate automated testing into deployment processes to facilitate quick and stable releases - Work alongside DevOps to enhance test performance and infrastructure reliability - Perform manual testing where necessary in critical functional areas lacking automation - Develop and sustain API test suites using Postman, REST Assured, Karate, or custom frameworks - Implement performance and load testing with tools like Artillery - Support mobile/browser compatibility testing through BrowserStack - Create test artifacts that comply with PCI-DSS Level 1 standards - Ensure automated tests produce reliable evidence for audits and internal stakeholders - Utilize secure testing practices (API keys, whitelisting, environment isolation) - Engage actively in a pairing culture with engineers and QA team members - Implement TDD and contribute to a bi-weekly release cycle - Participate in on-call rotation as part of shared engineering duty - Use Jira extensively for test planning, execution, and traceability - Employ AI-augmented tools (Claude Code) to speed up test creation and maintenance
