Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years in telecommunications, electrical, or computer engineering, or 3-6 years of equivalent combined academic and practical experience
- Foundational familiarity with monitoring concepts and relevant tools
- Experience with real-time networks in a professional setting
- Proficiency in utilizing technical resources and collaborating across IT
- Understanding of basic TCP/IP networking principles
- Strong customer service orientation and sensitivity
- Willingness to learn about dependency management
- Ability to demonstrate persistence in completing tasks and activities
- Capability to seek and act on guidance from experienced team members
- Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle for site visits
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and technical support for IT solutions associated with Cyber, Fiber Optics, Firewall, Real-Time Networks, SmartGrid, Transport, and Wireless Communication technologies
- Foster strong relationships with Utility business partners while managing various telecommunications projects and their upkeep
- Collaborate with IT Architecture and Engineering on planning technology introductions and ensuring alignment with architectural standards
- Analyze IT trends and issues, proposing actionable insights based on data analysis
- Review data protection protocols for business functions, documenting available solutions
- Uphold established best practices, procedures, and methodologies in all tasks
- Ensure timely completion of tasks, maintaining adherence to service level agreements
