Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Networking with 4 - 7 years of IT infrastructure experience, or 6 - 9 years in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in system administration.
- Proven ability to design and document processes and procedures.
- Experience with transitioning tasks to operational teams.
- Solid background with the Cisco unified platform, including Call Manager and Unity Connection.
- Familiarity with British Telecom Voice equipment and turret operations.
- Strong business acumen within own function.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to convey technical information in an understandable manner to non-technical audiences, both written and verbal.
- Skilled in relationship building with a focus on teamwork.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Innovative mindset, leveraging emerging technologies for creative solutions.
- Experience delivering work in line with project management principles.
- Capability to perform financial impact analysis.
- Understanding of standard monitoring tools and their applications.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and their business applications.
- Basics of security evaluation against current standards and future trends.
- Proficient with scripting and automation tools like PowerShell and Ansible.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate discussions with business partners and vendors to gather necessary information. Collaborate with leadership and project teams to define system requirements and conduct feasibility studies on architectural changes.
- Draft and share system specifications, including logical and physical architecture diagrams, as well as implementation plans. Provide efficient, cost-effective solutions tailored to business needs, including hands-on configuration and troubleshooting.
- Work collaboratively to develop future plans, resource needs, and migration strategies, while presenting to Engineering and Architecture Review Boards.
- Design, support, and maintain custom system integrations to meet customer needs while staying updated on evolving IT technologies.
- Identify and manage risks and issues, ensuring they are documented and addressed appropriately, while providing data support to leadership and peers.
- Keep abreast of compliance with preferred technologies, standards, and methodologies, and engage in peer code reviews to enhance technical knowledge.
