Must:

- 4 - 7 years experience in IT infrastructure design, application design, cloud computing, disaster recovery, or 6 - 9 years of relevant experience
- Experience in system administration
- Proven ability to design and document processes and procedures
- Experience in transitioning work to operational teams
- Knowledge in Storage and Backup engineering, design, and operations
- Strong business acumen relevant to own discipline or function
- Ability to solve intricate problems
- Effective communication skills for conveying complex technical information in simpler terms, both written and verbal
- Strong relationship building and teamwork skills
- Capacity to influence across different levels and teams
- Innovative mindset in utilizing diverse perspectives and emerging technologies
- Experience with project management principles and frameworks
- Ability to conduct financial impact analysis
- Understanding of standard monitoring tools and ability to make informed decisions regarding monitoring settings
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and their applicability in business and IT
- Basic understanding of security requirements and industry trends
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell or Ansible
Responsibilities
- Lead discussions with business partners and vendors to gather necessary information
- Consult with leadership, architecture, project teams, and end users to determine system requirements and assess feasibility of changes
- Develop and disseminate system specifications, including logical and physical architecture diagrams and implementation plans
- Deliver practical, cost-effective solutions that meet business needs, including hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, and providing supporting metrics
- Collaborate with others to formulate future plans, resource needs, migration strategies, and project timelines
- Create and present findings to Engineering and Architecture Review Boards
- Maintain a thorough understanding of current technologies and service offerings within the industry
- Provide mentorship and oversight to less experienced engineers
- Design, support, and maintain custom system integrations for customer needs
- Stay current on evolving IT systems technologies
- Identify and document risks and issues, ensuring they are addressed appropriately
- Maintain compliance with preferred technologies, methodologies, standards, and policies
- Participate in peer code reviews and strengthen problem-solving skills
