Requirements

Must:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or a related field, typically with 8 or more years of robust, varied experience in cyber security vulnerability assessments, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. - A minimum of 5-8 years of proven experience in security engineering or a related role, including: - Knowledge of encryption algorithms and cryptology. - Familiarity with database systems and embedded systems. - Understanding of how system components are installed, integrated, and optimized. - Comprehension of human-computer interaction principles. - Insight into cybersecurity principles and organizational mandates related to confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability, authentication, and non-repudiation. - Proficiency with operating systems and IT/OT security principles and techniques, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, demilitarized zones, and encryption. - Knowledge of system engineering processes and network protocols, routing principles, and identity and access management. - Solid grasp of change management strategies relevant to new technology implementation. - Demonstrated ability to generate an economic business case. - Proven leadership skills, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and consulting abilities. - Excellent communication skills, with a track record of effectively collaborating with all levels of IT/OT and business management.

Responsibilities

- I will provide analytical and technical security recommendations to fellow team members, technical teams, and business clients, which includes guiding leadership in cybersecurity matters, resolving computer security incidents, and contributing to implementation plans and standard operating procedures regarding information systems security. - I will collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure effective security configurations and requirements are in place: - Ensure that minimum security protocols are met for all applications. - Confirm that security patches are applied to both commercial and custom products integrated into system design. - Recommend security adjustments to systems as necessary, and manage any security deficiencies identified during testing. - Verify and update security documentation reflecting the application/systems security design features. - I will work alongside Vulnerability Management and application teams to ensure secure transitions of applications into production. - Assist with vulnerability mitigation, incident remediation, and change management activities.

Description


As a Cyber Security Engineer (CSE), I will work closely primarily with Cloud and Infrastructure Operations/Engineering and Utility IT/OT clients to establish effective security configurations and requirements. My role includes providing analytical and technical security recommendations, acting as a senior technical lead for all Exelon security remediation efforts, and partnering with Exelon business clients and management to define and negotiate application security requirements. I will also collaborate with Exelon application teams to ensure the secure transition of applications into production and develop technology to automate cybersecurity monitoring, logging, and compliance with CISS standards. Additionally, I will actively engage in relevant industry cybersecurity workgroups and forums, assist in the documentation needed for ongoing security system operations, and play a role in mitigations, incident remedies, and supporting change requests for cyber vulnerability remediation efforts. My contributions will also extend to collaborating with the Security Policy and Risk Office to identify, analyze, and address Exelons cybersecurity risks. This position is hybrid, requiring in-office attendance at least three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) at our locations in Millsboro - DE, Philadelphia - PA, Oakbrook Terrace - IL, or Owings Mills - MD. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
