Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Networking and possess 4 to 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure design, application design, cloud computing, or disaster recovery. Alternatively, I have over 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- I have experience in system administration and am adept at designing and documenting processes and procedures.
- I have successfully led operational handoffs and maintained a strong familiarity with ServiceNow.
- I possess competence in business dynamics relating to implementing and maintaining a Configuration Database and Asset Management System.
- I am skilled in solving complex issues and excel at communicating sensitive and mission-critical information to diverse audiences, including senior leadership, both in writing and verbally.
- I have a proven ability to help team members make informed decisions that align with our sub-department's strategic goals and proactively develop strategies to address business partner needs.
- I possess the ability to influence across all levels of the organization and drive innovative processes by leveraging diverse perspectives and emerging technologies.
- I can deliver work consistent with project management principles and provide financial impact analyses, assessing cost optimization opportunities.
- I have advanced troubleshooting and monitoring capabilities and can make informed decisions regarding monitoring settings and opportunities for self-healing.
- I am knowledgeable in cloud technologies and can develop white papers and deliver presentations as needed.
- I apply solutions that meet current security requirements and anticipate future industry trends while being proficient in PowerShell, Ansible, or similar scripting tools to automate, report, and monitor tasks.
Responsibilities
- I independently coordinate and lead discussions with business partners and vendors to gather essential information. I consult with leadership, architecture, project teams, and end users to identify system requirements and assess potential changes related to existing and future security and technical architectures. I am responsible for writing and disseminating system specifications, logical and physical architecture diagrams, and implementation plans, delivering practical and cost-effective solutions that meet business needs, including hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization (30%).
- I work collaboratively to develop future plans, resource requirements, migration strategies, and project schedules, creating and delivering presentations to Engineering, Architecture Review Boards, and business partners. I possess a comprehensive understanding of current technologies and service offerings within the industry and provide coaching and oversight for less experienced engineers (25%).
- I design, support, and maintain custom system integrations based on the specific needs of our customers while keeping up-to-date with emerging IT systems technologies and providing technology recommendations to address business challenges (20%).
- I ensure that all risks and issues are identified, documented, and addressed appropriately, providing supporting data to leadership and peers (15%).
- I maintain knowledge of, and ensure compliance with, preferred technologies, methodologies, standards, and policies. I continue to develop my technical knowledge and business acumen and lead peer code reviews utilizing advanced debugging and problem-solving skills (10%).
Description
I am seeking an IT Sr Systems Engineer II to join our team and play a pivotal role as a senior technical professional within the IT department. This hybrid position offers a flexible work environment allowing remote options, with a requirement to be in the office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Applicants must reside in one of the following states: IL, PA, NJ, DE, MD, or Washington DC. Please note that we are unable to provide relocation assistance. In this role, I will lead the design, implementation, support, and documentation of infrastructure systems, maintaining a deep knowledge of technology and its application across our business areas and customers. I will spearhead technological innovation to create new business opportunities and solve complex problems, working alongside partners, vendors, and other IT professionals. I will conduct projects of higher complexity with some independent judgment while fostering a development-centric work environment that encourages engagement and professional growth among my colleagues. I will have the opportunity to supervise interns and apprentices and serve as a mentor for system engineers. Our annual salary varies based on skills and experience, ranging from $117,600 to $161,700, with an eligible annual bonus of 15%.
