Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in telecommunications, electrical engineering, or related communication technologies, or 1-3 years of equivalent education and work experience
- Proven ability to utilize technical resources and collaborate with team members across the IT organization to address challenges
- Familiarity with basic TCP/IP networking concepts
- Sensitivity and a strong commitment to customer service
- Willingness to learn about dependency management
- Persistence and energy in completing tasks and activities
- Readiness to seek guidance and direction from more experienced colleagues
- Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle for site visits
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to engineering and operations teams for the deployment and maintenance of IT solutions related to Cyber, Fiber Optics, Firewall, Real Time Networks, SmartGrid, Transport (SONET/DWDM), and Wireless (RF) Communication technologies
- Foster strong client relationships by collaborating with the Utility business in implementing various telecommunications projects and maintaining these technologies
- Analyze and present IT trends and issues, proposing actions based on identified data patterns
- Support the IT architecture and engineering teams in the introduction of new technologies and optimal resource allocation in line with approved standards and architecture
- Implement data protection protocols following established solutions and processes
- Comply with best practices, standards, procedures, and guidelines within the department
- Manage project deadlines effectively and exhibit technical leadership by taking ownership of deliverables and demonstrating integrity and ethical principles in daily tasks
