Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent education and experience, along with four years of professional experience. - Strong foundational knowledge of GCP, AWS, and Azure security principles and components, including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS infrastructures. - Deep understanding of cloud security components such as CASB, cloud configuration templates, resource monitoring, and access authorization (SAML, OATH, etc.). - Significant exposure to cloud security frameworks, including container security and application containerization. - Proficient in programming and/or scripting languages relevant to cloud environments (Python, .NET, Node.JS, Golang, Ruby, etc.). - Demonstrated experience with the capabilities and APIs of major cloud providers (AWS, Google, Azure). - Capability to assess cloud security risks and recommend suitable controls. - Proven record of securing enterprise systems with both cloud and on-premises environments. - Strong awareness of network and system-level vectors of cloud-based attacks. - Proficient in root cause analysis of security issues with a solid grasp of exploits and vulnerabilities. - Familiar with web application security vulnerabilities including XSS, SQL injection, and CSRF. - Good understanding of Microsoft enterprise environments and their integration with secure applications and cloud systems. - Extensive experience applying security principles to prevent unauthorized network access. - Knowledge of cryptography in relation to application and network security. - Ability to create executive-level and detailed reports on security risks and status, and develop remediation plans. - Strong commitment to service, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. - High integrity and sound judgment concerning security and privacy matters. - Ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals, educators, researchers, students, and administrative staff. - Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision while creatively conducting high volumes of risk analyses. - Strong background in information security practices, especially within complex higher education or healthcare IT settings. - Professional Cloud Security and Design training (CCSP, CCSK, PCSE). - Experience in a HIPAA/HITECH/OMNIBUS-regulated environment, with practical knowledge of the HITRUST CSF and other security standards (HIPAA/HITECH, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001/2, NIST). - Experience in academic medical centers or hospital environments is a plus. - Project planning or team leadership experience. - Certification in GIAC Cloud (GCLD, GWEB, GPCS, GCSA, GCPN) or any cloud platform certification (AWS, GCP, Google).

Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate security analyses, investigations, and application deployments in the cloud, constituting 60% of the roles focus. - Drive process improvements through effective use of security systems such as MCAS, AWS Config, SEIMs, and DLP, accounting for 20% of time. - Collaborate with Information Security Operations engineers on projects and initiatives, representing 10% of responsibilities. - Undertake additional tasks as assigned, comprising the remaining 10%. - Document and establish baseline configurations to ensure the secure instantiation of cloud applications. - Recommend suitable authentication protocols and processes to ensure secure access to cloud applications. - Enhance security design and architecture by advising relevant stakeholders on complex cloud application design principles. - Conduct thorough reviews to expose security gaps and assess the overall security posture of third-party cloud applications. - Evaluate and suggest additional components to address cloud security needs, ensuring institutional and regulatory compliance. - Identify security requirements for effective logging and SecOps monitoring of cloud tools to enhance alerting and metrics reporting for security improvements. - Develop in-house security tools to automate compliance checks of cloud application security environments. - Lead and assist in the investigation of cloud-related security incidents as necessary. - Deploy and manage secure cloud environments for ISO operations. - Perform other necessary duties as assigned or requested.

You will act as the principal authority on Information Security, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure and applications are deployed with the utmost security. Additionally, you will support IT security operations, incident responses, and drive improvements in processes through effective system utilization. With a workweek of 35 hours, this regular position offers a competitive salary range between $140,000 and $149,672, based on factors including qualifications and experience.
