Requirements
Must:
- 7+ years of practical network engineering experience, more experience is welcome but not essential.
- Strong hands-on expertise with both AWS and Azure cloud networking, particularly in AWS-centric environments.
- Proven knowledge of Fortinet solutions, especially FortiGate firewalls and Fortinet Analyzer.
- Solid experience in Cisco routing and switching, along with WAN and hybrid network architecture.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform and/or CloudFormation) in live environments.
- Proficiency in monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, New Relic, and Fortinet, as well as Wireshark for diagnostics.
- Ability to manage network environments with high levels of independence and accountability.
- Experience in the FinTech industry is highly sought after, though not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Engineer, support, and enhance a cloud-driven network infrastructure, focusing on AWS and Azure.
- Design, construct, and manage cloud network systems in AWS and Azure, including routing, gateways, transit gateways, route tables, and security groups.
- Architect and uphold hybrid connectivity between cloud platforms and physical office sites, ensuring secure WAN connections.
- Lead and participate in significant infrastructure upgrades, all conducted in-house.
- Optimize Fortinet security solutions, including both physical and virtual FortiGate firewalls and Fortinet Analyzer.
- Support enterprise-level routing and switching utilizing Cisco technology, demonstrating strong Layer 2/Layer 3 skills and WAN expertise.
- Employ Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation for efficient and consistent network setup and management.
- Enhance automated deployment and configuration methodologies.
- Utilize various monitoring platforms to ensure network performance and health.
- Conduct deep packet analysis and advanced troubleshooting with Wireshark.
- Review and suggest improvements for current monitoring practices to bolster observability and incident response.
- Oversee the daily monitoring, maintenance, and stabilization of the cloud network environment.
- Resolve complex network issues across AWS, Azure, and hybrid connectivity.
- Manage incident resolution and perform root cause analysis on network-related challenges.
- Work autonomously while collaborating with engineering and operational teams as necessary.
