Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with C#
- At least 3 years of experience with Microsoft SQL
- Over 3 years of experience in gathering and documenting project requirements
- Familiarity with front-end web technologies such as React, JavaScript, or Material UI is preferred
- Experience in analyzing existing code and developing modernization strategies
- Knowledge of third-party data integrations using REST APIs and SQL extracts
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the technical feasibility, architecture, scalability, and security of the current Cadet Accountability System (CAS)
- Assess operational alignment for cadet workflows and the Commandant, Academic, and Athletic departments
- Review interoperability with systems such as Banner, Canvas, My Citadel Portal, and health systems
- Analyze user experience, adoption, and training requirements
- Evaluate the economic feasibility, including total cost of ownership (TCO) and ROI in comparison with other systems
- Analyze the existing codebase and provide recommendations for modernization or replacement, along with a timeline and roadmap
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on intricate projects
- Prepare and present detailed reports
- Prioritize work activities according to organizational objectives and situational demands
- Effectively plan and communicate work activities and timelines

We are looking for a seasoned Software Architect - Consultant to assist the State of South Carolina in modernizing a vital enterprise application, the Cadet Accountability System. This is a fully remote, short-term project that will last for 4 months.
