Requirements

Must:
- I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or I have a High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. - I possess over 12 years of progressive software engineering experience. - I have at least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership position. - I demonstrate a proven track record of successfully leading distributed engineering teams (onshore/nearshore/offshore). - I have experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure), microservices, and high-availability platforms. - I excel in leading distributed teams and cross-functional delivery. - I have a history of implementing CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. - I have experience working in regulated environments (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, CLIA, GCP, FDA, ISO-13485). - I demonstrate the capability to perform the Essential Duties of the position, with or without accommodation. - I am authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

- I define and take ownership of the target architecture and roadmap for the LIS platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-efficient. - I oversee the design and delivery of cloud-native, high-availability systems that support complex laboratory workflows while ensuring data integrity. - I collaborate with clinical and laboratory operations to align LIS capabilities with the needs of molecular testing and oncology diagnostics. - I ensure that LIS software complies with HIPAA, CLIA/CAP, FDA, and internal Quality Management System standards; I integrate security and privacy considerations into all solutions. - I establish and promote modern engineering practices, including API-first and event-driven architectures, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and DevOps automation. - I work closely with Product, Security, Data, Enterprise Architecture, and Operations to ensure the LIS aligns with scientific, clinical, and business priorities. - I lead and cultivate a diverse, high-performing team while promoting inclusion, accountability, mentorship, and professional development. - I manage external relationships to guarantee quality, value, and compliance. - I uphold our company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork. - I support and adhere to the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures. - I maintain regular and reliable attendance. - I have the ability to lift up to 10 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day. - I am able to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen while performing typing for about 90% of a typical working day. - I have the ability and resources to travel between Exact Sciences locations.

We seek a leader who blends profound technical knowledge with strategic leadership capabilities, bringing extensive software engineering experience from regulated biomedical sectors. In this role, you will outline architecture and execution plans, lead engineering teams, and collaborate across functions to deliver dependable, compliant, and scalable LIS solutions. The salary range for this position is between $182,000.00 and $309,000.00 on a full-time basis.
