We seek individuals with proven experience in technical support roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of computer management, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, as well as network diagnostics. Proficiency in operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux is essential. Practical experience with Microsoft Office applications and common enterprise tools, such as Help Desk software (ServiceNow, Jira) and ticketing systems like BMC Remedy, is required. A solid knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN setup, VPN configuration, and firewalls is vital. Familiarity with desktop support procedures—like installing hardware and software, configuring peripherals, and efficiently troubleshooting common issues—is expected. Applicants should possess the ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical users, coupled with excellent customer service skills. A background in security protocols concerning firewall management, VPN access control, and cybersecurity best practices is necessary. Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting are crucial. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will respond swiftly to incoming support requests via help desk systems like ServiceNow and Jira, ensuring timely and effective resolutions. You will troubleshoot and fix issues related to computer hardware, various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software applications like the Microsoft Office suite. You'll manage tasks related to computer performance, including OS updates, software installations, and hardware configurations. Diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues related to LAN, VPN, firewalls, and other IT infrastructure elements will also be part of your duties. You will assist in desktop support activities by setting up user devices, troubleshooting peripherals, and aiding in software troubleshooting. Monitoring and maintaining IT infrastructure components, including servers and switches, while tracking incidents through BMC Remedy will be necessary. You'll support users with computer security practices, collaborate with cross-functional teams for complex issues, document support activities thoroughly, and provide clear communication on issue status, resolution steps, and preventive measures.
