Requirements
Must:
- Senior hands-on Data Warehouse Administrator with excellent communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to autonomously construct and manage an Oracle ADW data warehouse environment in the public cloud with minimal oversight.
- Skilled in converting business and functional requirements into technical specifications for a Data Warehouse and executing the approved design.
- Capable of designing VM configurations and resource allocations based on current and anticipated workloads, including CDB and PDB levels.
- Proficient in designing and implementing compartments, tagging, and IAM policies for diverse user groups and roles accessing the OADW or OCI tenancy.
- Knowledgeable in best practices regarding tenancy DRG and LPG design and performance.
- Must demonstrate recent, direct hands-on experience in the identified areas with specific examples.
- At least seven (7) years of documented experience in database design and warehouse architecture within an Oracle environment.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the last six years managing Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse in an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environment.
- Five years of experience administering Oracle data warehouses in the last ten years.
- Proficient in various Oracle tools for performing ETL, performance management, and tuning in an Oracle Data Warehouse and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out data warehouse administration for the Enterprise Data Warehouse in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, specifically within the Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse Environment.
- Assess existing architecture and provide solution proposals as necessary.
- Create, test, and deploy scripts/jobs for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from data sources to targets in the data warehouse using ODI.
- Design and visualize the enterprise data management framework.
- Define processes for planning, acquiring, maintaining, utilizing, archiving, retrieving, controlling, and purging data.
- Engage hands-on with Oracles Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) service while managing its operation.
- Develop the physical data model or collaborate with the data modeler to create one.
- Formulate a Testing Approach, Plan, Scripts, and Document the Results.
- Produce and update a data catalog for the enterprise data warehouse.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary for the enterprise data warehouse.
- Contribute to the development of Requirements Specifications.
- Assist in the formulation of Design Specifications.
- Evaluate and oversee databases to troubleshoot performance issues.
- Monitor the EDW and respond to incidents as they arise.
- Provide documentation to support the Kimball Dimensional Data Modeling Framework.
- Guide and mentor team members on best practices and industry standards.
Description
We are looking for a Data Warehouse Administrator for a long-term engagement, requiring on-site presence in Sacramento, CA, for two days a week. The scheduling of these days will be determined by our client. Candidates must reside within 90 miles of Sacramento, as others will not be considered.
