Requirements
Must:
- In-depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP
- Expertise in NAT, VPNs, and firewall architecture
- Experience with enterprise networking systems like Fortinet, Extreme, Palo Alto, Juniper, Cisco
- Strong troubleshooting skills, employing a methodical approach rather than guesswork
- Proficiency in packet analysis and traffic flow debugging
- Ability to design and document network infrastructure at scale
- Familiarity with automation practices, including scripting and infrastructure as code
- Capacity to organize and enhance chaotic network environments
- Relevant certifications (Fortinet, Extreme, CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE) are a plus, but not mandatory
Responsibilities
- Design and standardize network solutions for various clients
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and performance issues
- Create and deploy multi-site failover strategies
- Develop high-availability network architectures
- Set up secure segmentation and firewall policies
- Analyze issues at the packet level using tools such as Wireshark
- Promote automation and operational efficiency
- Serve as the escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers
- Identify and rectify systemic network problems for long-term solutions
