Requirements

Must:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate/Bachelors degree or relevant certifications preferred) - CompTIA A+, ITIL, or similar certifications - 0-2 years of experience in IT support or a related field - Basic understanding of Windows/Mac OS, Microsoft Office, and common business applications - Strong customer service and communication abilities - Capability to troubleshoot and resolve fundamental IT issues - Openness to learning and developing within the IT sector - Experience with ticketing systems like Zendesk, ServiceNow, or Jira (preferred) - Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and basic network troubleshooting (preferred)

Responsibilities

- Respond to incoming helpdesk tickets via phone, email, or ticketing system - Deliver first-level support for software, hardware, network, and peripheral challenges - Record and monitor all support requests using the internal ticketing system - Escalate unresolved concerns to Level 2 or relevant technical teams - Assist users with password resets, software installations, and basic troubleshooting - Document support processes and solutions in the knowledge base - Follow up with users to ensure their issues are satisfactorily resolved - Perform some heavy lifting of IT-related equipment (approximately 50 lbs)

We are currently seeking a motivated Helpdesk Technician (Level 1) to join our On-Site IT support team, servicing over 200 employees both in-office and remotely. This is a full-time position located in Smithtown, NY, offering a competitive salary between $50,000 and $60,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
