Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in UNIX/Linux Administration
- At least 2 years of experience with NoSQL or SQL Database Technologies
- Advanced knowledge of Unix systems and shell scripting
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Memsql, CockroachDB, Redis, TigerDB, etc.
- Experience in creating and implementing fully operational NoSQL database clusters
- Strong background in maintaining various development, QA, and production NoSQL environments
- Practical experience in operations and production support
- Understanding of DevOps tools like BladeLogic and Ansible
- Prior experience in high-volume data environments is preferred
- Knowledge of cluster management, including node management and consistency tuning
- Proficient in monitoring, management, capacity planning, and compaction strategies
- Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures, as well as security and role management
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams
- Must demonstrate versatility, flexibility, and a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges
Responsibilities
- Provide daily administration, support, and maintenance for existing and new NoSQL databases in both production and non-production settings
- Conduct debugging, performance tuning, and optimization of the NoSQL platform
- Automate operational tasks and continuous integration processes
- Develop shell scripts for the installation and support of NoSQL databases
- Utilize DevOps tools like BladeLogic to create, manage, and execute jobs
- Identify and rectify inefficiencies within current database systems
- Collaborate in planning and executing capacity and resource expansion for scalability
- Assist development teams in making schema changes and managing database access levels
- Aid in planning and conducting database upgrades and migrations
Description

This role is for a NoSQL DBA who will be integral to our team, responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of NoSQL database clusters within Linux systems.
