Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
- Strong practical experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter Server
- Familiarity with virtual networking, SAN/NAS storage, and Windows/Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of resource management, vMotion, High Availability (HA), and Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS)
- Experience with PowerCLI or PowerShell scripting for automation tasks
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification is a plus
- Experience with vRealize Suite, Horizon View, or NSX is advantageous
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud integration
- Familiarity with backup tools (Veeam, Commvault) and monitoring solutions (vROps, SolarWinds)
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server clusters
- Deploy and oversee virtual machines, templates, and snapshots
- Monitor system performance and resolve virtualization-related issues
- Implement and manage VMware High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), and vMotion functionalities
- Conduct capacity planning, backup, and disaster recovery setups
- Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to VMware systems as needed
- Collaborate with the networking, storage, and security teams to enhance overall infrastructure
- Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure designs, modifications, and configurations
