Requirements
Must:
- 15+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 10 years focused on Oracle database administration.
- Extensive knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and OEM Cloud Control.
- Proven expertise in performance optimization, capacity forecasting, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Solid foundation in Unix/Linux operating systems, including scripting capabilities.
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or AWS RDS for Oracle is desired.
- Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, and fundamental database architecture concepts.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and sustain Oracle databases (12c, 19c, and later) in development, testing, and production settings.
- Conduct database installations, configurations, upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
- Enhance database performance through query optimization, indexing techniques, and resource allocation.
- Develop and uphold backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans utilizing RMAN, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
- Oversee user access, roles, and the implementation of database security protocols.
- Partner with application teams to architect effective database schemas and data models.
- Automate administrative functions using PL/SQL, shell scripting, and Python as needed.
- Support 24x7 production environments and engage in on-call rotations when required.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior DBAs and development staff.
