Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Proficiency in high availability setups, including Always On, clustering, and replication
- Expertise in performance tuning, including indexing and query optimization
- Solid understanding of backup and recovery strategies
- Strong skills in T-SQL, stored procedures, and functions
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SQL Profiler and Extended Events
- Knowledge of database security measures, encryption, auditing, and role-based access
- Experience with cloud databases like Azure SQL and AWS RDS (preferred)
- Proficient in scripting, particularly with PowerShell
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Proven experience in cross-team collaboration
Responsibilities
- Oversee and support extensive SQL Server ecosystems
- Design database architectures that ensure high availability and scalability
- Optimize database performance through tuning and query refinement
- Develop and implement effective backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans
- Monitor database health and address potential issues proactively
- Uphold database security standards, compliance, and access controls
- Assist application development teams with database design requirements
- Guide database migrations and system upgrades
- Automate repetitive DBA tasks to enhance efficiency
