Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in application support and development.
- 3+ years of experience employing DevOps methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
- Proficient in supporting applications within multi-tiered environments using Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL, and load balancing.
- Familiarity with off-the-shelf applications such as Quorum, Entero, and/or Allegro.
- Ability to identify software enhancement opportunities, analyze user requirements, and propose improvements to business processes.
- Capacity to quickly acquire new skills and technologies.
- Experience with the following technologies (1 or more in each category):
- Continuous Integration: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise
- Build and dependency management: Maven, Gradle, Ant
- Scripting languages: PowerShell, Groovy, Python, Bash, JavaScript
- Source Control: Git, SVN
- Microsoft T-SQL or PL/SQL
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Educational requirements vary by job level:
- Senior IT Specialist: Bachelors degree or equivalent and 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- Lead IT Specialist: Bachelors degree or equivalent and 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Principal IT Specialist: Bachelors degree or equivalent and 10+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct technical support to key business users as well as provide assistance for both vendor and custom-developed applications.
- Manage build processes, deployment strategies, and process automation.
- Oversee the installation and coordination of patches and releases across development, test, and production environments.
- Enhance application delivery utilizing containers, orchestration, and configuration management tools.
- Collaborate with business teams and vendors to facilitate application installations and upgrades.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for application infrastructure, including servers, network configurations, authentication, and high availability.
- Administer server access, accounts, audit controls, and reports to ensure Segregation of Duties compliance.
- Remain informed on current technologies and recommend appropriate strategies and tools.
- Organize and lead meetings, documenting key decisions, risks, and issues.
- Operate effectively with minimal supervision while taking ownership of all applications and responsibilities.
- Be available to support after-hours on business-critical projects and tasks.
