Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline preferred; extensive experience with terminal automation systems may be accepted instead of a degree.
- 2-5+ years of pertinent technical experience, particularly in terminal automation systems configuration and support.
- Strong analytical skills and capability in solving complex problems.
- Proficiency in managing multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities for effective communication with diverse user groups and external vendors.
- Competence in identifying issues, analyzing and researching solutions.
- Ability to diagnose and rectify equipment and software issues affecting service at all supported locations.
- Availability for 24/7 support as needed.
- Willingness to follow directions from supervisors and work collaboratively within a team.
- Preferred experience with terminal system pre-set and metering technologies, P&ID drawings, field instrumentation, electrical systems, petroleum operations terminology, networks, Microsoft Windows, relational databases (SQL or Oracle, PL/SQL), and Linux, Unix, or QNX.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
Responsibilities
- Configure, implement, and maintain terminal automation systems including associated applications, hardware, interfaces, and communications.
- Gather, interpret, and document requirements to develop new solutions or modify existing ones.
- Develop and deploy changes and enhancements to automation systems.
- Provide continuous support for critical production automation systems, ensuring availability 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
- Conduct research and maintenance activities, coordinating with vendors to meet service level expectations and objectives.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of information technology and business processes to evaluate impacts and prioritize tasks.
- Address and troubleshoot complex technical challenges.
- Continuously seek to broaden ones knowledge scope.
- Collaborate efficiently with other IT disciplines and operations team members to bridge gaps as necessary.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% as required by position demands, potentially more during critical projects.
- Conduct work assignments at remote locations in various weather conditions.
- Be willing to work overtime when necessary, including occasional weekends.
