Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or Petroleum engineering
- 5-7 years of experience in corrosion prevention and control programs for hazardous liquid and/or gas transmission and plant assets preferred
- Experience in pipeline operations, design, and integrity corrosion control issues
- Familiarity with PHMSA and State Code requirements and compliance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with PCs and office software
- Self-starter and self-motivated, able to work independently
- NACE Certification preferred
- Relevant experience for Engineer level: 3-6 years in job-related roles
- Relevant experience for Sr. Engineer level: 6-10 years in job-related roles
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to Corrosion Managers, Specialists, and Technicians on corrosion control
- Manage Company Corrosion Control Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for compliance and evaluation
- Conduct root cause analysis of pipeline failures and create prevention programs
- Manage communication regarding PHMSA remedial work plans and regulatory interactions
- Stay informed on proposed federal pipeline regulations and recommend SOP updates
- Analyze corrosion control data and maintain key performance indicators
- Design and oversee cathodic protection systems and corrosion testing methods
- Train field personnel and specialists on compliance and best practices
- Develop and enforce technical policies and procedures for pipeline systems
- Assist in annual O&M and capital budget development for the Operations department
- Facilitate new pipeline and facility designs, ensuring functional requirements are met
