Controls Systems Engineer

- Uphold environmental protection, ensuring the health and safety of employees, customers, and the community - Configure, install, and maintain DCS systems, third-party historians, HMIs, and PLCs, including the generation of operational reports from DCS - Collaborate with maintenance and operations to guarantee operational reliability of the facility - Oversee DCS operations and performance, providing technical support and troubleshooting, while facilitating program improvements - Supervise field construction, confirming correct installation, executing loop checks, and managing final commissioning of DCS/PLC equipment during maintenance or capital projects - Identify spare parts and preventative maintenance needs for DCS and related components - Aid in the formulation, execution, and upkeep of a backup and recovery strategy for major failures - Maintain clear and accurate documentation related to DCS system status and changes, and facilitate necessary personnel training - Conduct failure mode analyses to pinpoint equipment with high failure risks and endorse design modifications - Recommend, maintain, and engineer updates to system hardware and software while partaking in system selection and management - Stay informed on equipment updates, software changes, and evolutions in the process control sector - Ensure adherence to Process Safety and Risk Management goals through active involvement in Management of Change, Process Hazards Analysis, LOPA, and Pre-Startup Safety Review processes - Manage the plant process control network, including servers, firewalls, switches, routers, and workstations, while adhering to corporate IT policies
