Requirements
Must:
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 6+ years relevant experience in pipeline, refinery, or plant environment
- Bachelors degree in electrical, electronic, or instrument control technology preferred; alternatively, a 2-year technical degree with 6 to 8 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of industry safety procedures and applicable regulations
- Proficient in developing and presenting multiple solutions to problems
- Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Experience in creating piping, instrumentation, and electrical diagrams
- Well-developed computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Project)
- Familiarity with AB Control/Compact Logix, SLC, PLC5, Siemens S7, GE FANUC 90-70 & 90-30, Schneider PLC equipment, programming, and relevant software
- Understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, DF1, PCCC, CIP
- Proven leadership skills and capability to work as part of a team
- Ability to travel within the regional area as needed
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary electrical/control resource for Field Operations in pipeline and terminal processes
- Collaborate closely with local operations to identify and address customer needs and issues
- Provide technical support in specifying and troubleshooting electrical and control systems, including PLC logic/controllers and motors
- Draft functional specifications and Cause & Effect documentation for PLC systems, modifying control logic as required
- Oversee the development of project scopes and support the engineering, design, construction, and initiation of electrical and instrumentation projects
- Review engineering work completed both in-house and by external contractors to ensure compliance with company standards
- Ensure adherence to DOT, PHMSA regulations, Cyber Security standards, and other compliance requirements
- Deliver necessary training to local instrumentation and electrical personnel as well as operations and maintenance staff
- Evaluate project specifications related to electrical systems, facility power, and contracts
- Manage multiple operations tasks or projects, prioritizing based on changing business needs
- Guide field technicians and support staff, ensuring adherence to departmental workflows
