Requirements

Must:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience. - Proficient in programming languages: Python, JavaScript, and SQL. - Proven ability to manage projects autonomously from start to finish. - Experience in developing production web applications using React with a Python backend; FastAPI experience is a plus. - Strong SQL expertise with familiarity in cloud data warehouses; Snowflake experience preferred but not mandatory. - Familiar with integration tasks; MuleSoft experience desired, but other integration platforms or custom API experience is acceptable. - Hands-on experience deploying and managing services on AWS, particularly using container services like ECS/ECR. - Competent with CI/CD tools, particularly GitHub Actions. - Strong communication abilities to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences. - Experience in a regulated environment with a focus on data sensitivity and compliance.

Responsibilities

- Take full ownership of intricate full-stack projects, from initial scope through architecture to production and ongoing monitoring. - Develop and implement user-centric applications utilizing React for the frontend and Python services for the backend, with FastAPI preferred. - Create, sustain, and enhance data pipelines and transformations for Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms. - Design and execute integrations between internal systems and external services; MuleSoft experience preferred, but other platforms or custom API work is also suitable. - Deploy and manage containerized services on AWS (ECS, ECR) and oversee related CI/CD pipelines primarily using GitHub Actions. - Refine and productionize prototypes and tools produced by other teams to ensure usability for non-engineers. - Lead code evaluations, establish engineering standards, and uphold technical documentation. - Mentor fellow engineers, offer technical guidance, and enhance engineering quality throughout the team. - Ensure compliance of engineering work with data sensitivity and regulatory requirements typical to the insurance and finance sectors.
