Requirements
Must:
- 10+ years in technical management, reliability or operations, or platform engineering with 7+ years leading resiliency, disaster recovery, or business continuity in cloud environments at enterprise scale.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and executing Azure resiliency initiatives across various platforms and business divisions, including architecture standards and program governance.
- Practical expertise in Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, cross-region replication, hybrid disaster recovery strategies, and overseeing enterprise-wide disaster recovery testing and cloud failover activities.
- Proficient in defining and enforcing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), recovery objectives (RPO/RTO), and ensuring control adherence, with experience in presenting to senior leadership and risk committees.
- Strong familiarity with standards and frameworks like NIST SP 800-34, ISO 22301, ISO 27031, along with operational best practices such as ITIL, translating them into actionable procedures.
- Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and influencing abilities to align diverse teams and drive balanced decision-making.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is essential.
- Masters degree is preferred.
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification is preferred.
- CBCP certification is preferred.
- ISO 22301 Lead Implementer certification is preferred.
- ITIL v4 certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Define and manage the resiliency strategy and governance framework, including policies, standards, control objectives, and success metrics that align with business impact and risk appetite.
- Develop disaster recovery roadmaps and ensure that KPIs and recovery objectives (RPO/RTO) are established, measured, and effectively communicated across platforms.
- Supervise the creation, documentation, and continuous upkeep of contingency planning procedures tailored for an Azure public cloud environment, ensuring compliance across business units and platforms.
- Direct the development of system-specific contingency plans, delineating roles, recovery objectives, restoration priorities, failover patterns, and communication protocols for executives.
- Establish a contingency training program, including plan testing, after-action reviews, and remediation tracking, ensuring accountability and target date adherence.
- Create executive-level reporting and dashboards for resiliency testing to assess readiness, drill performance, plan coverage, corrective action completion, and remediation backlog.
- Foster continuous improvement by analyzing cross-platform lessons learned, prioritizing enterprise remediation and investments, and updating policies and standards accordingly.
