Systems Engineer - DevOps and Cloud

- Provide Level 2 production support for applications (approximately 70%) and batch processing (approximately 30%) - Evaluate the business impact of incidents through direct interactions with customers and stakeholders - Troubleshoot and rectify application, batch, and data-related issues utilizing application tools and databases - Respond to system alerts, business queries, and data quality concerns with urgency and accuracy - Offer prompt assistance for main operational systems, including during on-call weeks - Analyze code (PL/SQL, Perl, Shell scripts) for troubleshooting and propose enduring solutions - Develop and enhance PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages - Collaborate with development teams to coordinate fixes and implement changes in production - Review existing platforms and suggest improvements in automation, CI/CD practices, security, and observability - Contribute to the scalability, resiliency, and operational stability of distributed systems - Support and manage highly resilient AWS cloud environments - Work with containerized workloads, particularly using Kubernetes - Utilize modern monitoring and observability tools like DataDog, Prometheus, and Splunk - Maintain systems managed through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Chef, IAM, ARM, etc.) - Ensure high availability in complex, distributed, multi-tier architectures - Participate in an on-call rotation, including limited weekend support - Work collaboratively with a globally distributed team using a follow-the-sun model - Mentor and support fellow team members through knowledge sharing and technical leadership
