Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience (2 years with a degree, or 5 years without it)
- Strong Linux (RHEL) administration skills with a focus on system hardening and performance optimization
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server in enterprise setups
- Proficient in using Veeam for enterprise-level backup and disaster recovery processes
- Knowledgeable about SAN storage solutions, clustering, and load balancing for high availability
- Familiar with core services such as DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, and Ansible for configuration management
- Experience in automation and scripting, specifically with Bash; familiarity with tools like rsync, rsyslog, OpenSSL, OpenSSH, and Apache.
- Proven ability to work within structured change management protocols and collaborate with IT security, network, database, and application teams
- CJIS training and testing as mandated by the organization
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the Veeam-based backup and disaster recovery operations to guarantee data protection and operational readiness across both production and disaster recovery locations.
- Design and uphold backup architecture, maintaining Linux repositories, configuring proxies, and executing regular backup validation and recovery procedures.
- Administer and sustain Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server systems across various environments to ensure system availability, performance, and security.
- Execute system provisioning, configuration, monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting, while aligning systems with operational and security standards.
- Implement essential infrastructure services and security measures, including DNS, DHCP, and Ansible for configuration management, alongside timely vulnerability remediation.
- Facilitate storage integration and high-availability setups by configuring SAN storage at the OS level, along with clustering and load balancing, in partnership with database and network teams.
- Create and optimize Bash scripts for automation, managing open-source services and deploying tools such as rsync, rsyslog, OpenSSL, OpenSSH, and Apache with a focus on security and thorough documentation.
