Requirements
Must:
- Over 5 years of experience in professional Shopify development.
- In-depth understanding of Shopify Online Store 2.0 architecture, JSON templates, and theme customization.
- Strong skills in Liquid, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Proven experience in transforming UX designs from Figma, Zeplin, or Sketch into Shopify implementations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of theme editor setup and block-based architecture.
- Proven ability to create WCAG 2.1 AA compliant components.
- Expertise in performance optimization, including image enhancement and lazy-loading techniques.
- Background in consulting or contracting, with capabilities in independent work and managing client expectations.
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical details to non-technical parties.
- A portfolio showcasing Shopify homepage redesigns or intricate component projects is preferred.
- Experience with video integration and media optimization in Shopify is a plus.
- Familiarity with GitHub workflows and version control best practices is preferred.
- Previous employment with agencies or consulting firms is preferred.
- A history of successfully completing fixed-price projects is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all Shopify development tasks and act as the primary technical liaison.
- Assess and estimate projects by dissecting requirements into manageable tasks along with time and cost projections.
- Create modular Online Store 2.0 sections and blocks adhering to industry best practices.
- Implement custom homepage features, including hero banners, promotional sections, category displays, product grids, and carousels.
- Ensure consistency in responsiveness across mobile, tablet, and desktop formats.
- Deliver components and user experiences compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Enhance performance through image optimization, lazy-loading techniques, and Lighthouse score improvements.
- Perform thorough self-quality assurance across various browsers and devices before delivering to clients.
- Collaborate with stakeholders during milestone meetings, code evaluations, and user acceptance testing sessions.
- Compile detailed technical documentation and administrative guides.
- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code that works seamlessly with existing themes.
